Care & Maintenance
Paver Care
- Paver Care
A well-installed paver surface is built to perform for decades. Routine care preserves its appearance and protects the integrity of the joints and base beneath.
Routine Cleaning
Sweep the surface regularly to prevent organic debris from settling into the joints. Periodically rinse with a garden hose to remove fine particles.
For deeper cleaning, use mild soap and warm water with a soft-bristle brush. Avoid acidic or abrasive cleaners, which may damage the surface finish.
Joint Sand
Polymeric sand within the joints provides stability and helps prevent weed growth. Over time, sand may settle or wash out and should be replenished as needed — typically every few years depending on use and exposure.
Sealing
Sealing is optional and depends on the material and finish. Where applied, a quality sealer enhances colour, reduces staining, and improves resistance to efflorescence.
Resealing is generally recommended every three to five years. The first sealing is best performed at least sixty days after installation.
Winter Considerations
Use a plastic or rubber-edged shovel rather than metal to avoid scratching the surface. Calcium chloride and sand-based ice melts are preferred over rock salt, which can accelerate surface wear on certain materials.
A Considered Approach
Designed to age beautifully
Quality pavers develop a refined patina over time. Routine attention preserves the surface while allowing it to settle into its surroundings naturally.
